Export paths from Illustrator and convert them to Apple Motion paths with Motionize!

Motionize is great for importing Illustrator paths into Apple Motion paths.
Installation is easy, but the workflow is a bit convoluted, so I will list the steps below.

1. Trace your paths in Illustrator, SAVE AS Illustrator CS. Motionize won't work with newer versions. (Actually it does not work with CC in my experience, and I haven't tried other versions of CS.)

2. Select the paths or groups you want to export (Motionize supports Illustrator groups.)

3. Select File/Script/Motionize and save the ".motn" file to a folder of your choice.

4. MOVE this Motion file INTO: BootHD/Users/your user/Library/Application Support/Motion/Library/Favorites (...Make a shortcut.)

Do not forget step 4!!! If you try to open the ".motn" file directly from Motion (File/Open) it will be EMPTY. And you will think Motionize does not work. IT DOES!

5. Access your file inside Motion (works with 5.3.2 no prob') through the Library / Favorites.
BINGO!

Thank you Scott Ash another human for a great script!

How to Fade in/out completely with Ramp Behavior applied to a Bezier Shape in Motion 5.3.2

If you've applied a Fade in/out to an Bezier Shape that also has a Ramp Behavior you will notice that the Fade does not start at 0 and does not end at 0. In other words, the Bezier Shape is still visible on the first and last frame.

See below, I have a Bezier Shape with a Ramp and a Fade in/out applied to it.

Without a Ramp Offset, the Fade does not start at 0 = my Shape (Arrow in the Viewer) is still visible on the first frame

In order to start with the Shape completely invisible on the first frame and disappear entirely on the last frame you must adjust the Ramp Behavior by adding one frame at the Start Offset and End Offset.

With a Ramp Offset of 1, the Fade starts at 0 = my Shape is invisible on the first frame in the Viewer.

Does someone know if Apple Motion has the equivalent of After Effects "Guide Layer"?

A convenient way to build your graphics or animation is to bring a temp background layer in your timeline. Of course you don't want to render the background with the graphics, After Effects has a very convenient "stamping": right-click on your layer, select Guide Layer = the layer won't be rendered in the output.
I can't find something similar in Apple Motion and I spend my time turning the layer on and off. If someone has a solution, please let me know!
