Final Cut Pro "Incompatible Audio Units Found" Message - Waves Plug-ins

The message: "Incompatible Audio Units Found" with a list of Waves Plug-ins appears at Final Cut Pro launch.

This happened after I installed Waves Plug-ins using Waves Central app, but forgot to license the computer to use these specific plug-ins.

To get rid of the pesky message and validate the plug-ins, first license the plug-ins using Waves Central.

Go to Applications / Waves / Waveshells V11
and run “Waves AU Reg Utility Y 11.app”.
You might have a different version (11, 12 whatever) of Waves plug-ins, and in my case I had 4 of these utilities in the folder (Y = 1,3,6,9), I ran them all.

Go To User / Library / Preferences, and trash "com.apple.audio.infoHelper.plist".
Empty The Trash. This will force FCPX to rescan and validate all plug-ins at launch.

But first, Restart the computer.

Re-Launch Final Cut X and be patient while FCPX validates Audio Units.

Pro Tools Not Loading, Stuck Scanning Plug-ins

A common problem with Pro Tools not loading and stuck at the "Scanning Plug-ins" level is a corrupted Plug-in or a stray 32bit plug-in.

Plug-ins are stored in System HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins, or in System HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins.

I checked that no plug-in was 32 bit by showing the Kind column in the Finder window. Kind: Pro Tools Plug-In (32bit) will point at the culprit(s.) In my case all plug-ins were 64bit.

So I remove all plug-ins (I moved then to the Unused folder) and restarted Pro Tools, it automatically re-installed the default plug-ins. I then moved back the unused plug-ins one by one, actually manufacturer by manufacturer into the plug-ins folder and tried laughing Pro Tools for each batch until it froze again. In my case that was the WaveShell that caused the hang.

The fix was to update Waves Central, and in Settings select Clear Central cache. On Wave Central relaunch, I then selected Repair. The Wave Shell and plug-ins got fresh installs.

That's it, that fixed the problem for me, back to editing and mixing!

"Inactive" Waves AU Plug-ins cripple FCPX with constantly popping message window

I need to work on a project started a while ago, and to do so I am loading an old FCPX Library.  Back then I used a couple of Waves plug-ins to finalize the project.
The computer I'm using today does not have the Waves license activated and FCPX constantly pops a window with the message:
 (imagine... X 100)

Plug-in # does not have a license. Please check that you have a valid license, then click "Rescan Licenses".   To continue without Plug-in #, click "Skip".

Well man, I'm clicking "Skip" like a madman, but the creeping message keeps coming back, and back and back and back and back and back and back and back and back and back and back and back and back.  What the hell is this?????

OK so after clicking XXX times on "Skip" (OK hold ESC instead to go through this ordeal faster)  I finally get to select my clips and from here I should be able to DELETE the freaking Plug-ins from the Inspector... Yes!
NOT without having to click "Skip" another hundred times... Oh lord... I see what it's doing, I have a hundred clips that have the plug-in added, so it's popping the damn window for EACH instance of the Plug-in... Lovely.

Popping ONCE would be enough don't you think Waves? You are disabling the Plug-ins anyway, so what's the use of constantly popping a message window?  I get it, the license is not activated on this machine, yes I want to Skip, do I have to say it a hundred of times?

Enough already!  Please fix this behavior that's jacking up our blood pressure. Thanks.
